Just for a Change

In addition to varying your card design, it's fun to make a card of a different size, just to mix things up and make things interesting. The CTMH adhesive border strips take ink wonderfully, making it easy to have them coordinate with your card elements.

Non-Traditional Christmas

Using non-traditional Christmas colours to make a Christmas card is always a nice surprise for the recipient. A little bit of glitter always brings snowflakes to life.

Ribbons in the Wind

Attaching the ribbon to the metal embellishment creates some movement on this card front. Once again, the red ink colour was chosen to match the cardstock.

A Versatile Image

When I saw someone else's version of this card, I thought it was a wonderful idea to incorporate a doily image into a Christmas card. After all, they are somewhat similar in design to snowflakes. I think the three different images work well together. I first chose my ink colour and then found matching cardstock.

Enhance What You've Got

Just to add a little more glamour to this stamped image, I added rhinestones in the same place in the doily pattern. Offsetting the stamped image to the left required stamping the sentiment to the bottom right. Rounding the bottom right corner of the card also added balance. The ink colour was based on the colour of the ribbon I had on hand.

Cornered

Here I've used a doily on a card to create a fancy corner. I merely folded the paper doily around the corner of the stamped image.

Collage

A collage background stamp is a great start to create this type of card front, especially if you find this style of card design challenging, as I do. As done previously, all of the images were stamped on the card front and left to dry before the doily image was stamped and heat embossed. Colouring with Distress Inks followed. I framed the Happy Birthday sentiment to make sure that it did not get lost in the card layout.
