It's Not All About the Bunnies!

When I saw this line of chick stamps from Stampendous I had to get the sentiment to go with it!

Companies' Coordinating Cardstock

It's always a good idea to purchase the cardstock that matches companies' patterned papers. This takes the guesswork out of trying to find something that matches, leaving you more time to create!

A Balancing Act

For something different, I slipped a die cut doily behind my stamped image to offset the knotted ribbon along the bottom of the card.

Choosing Coordinating Colours

After picking three complimentary patterned papers from the same collection, I chose cardstock, ribbon and ink in the colours found in the patterned papers to pull the design together.

Embossed Heart Die Cuts

Thanks to Wendy for letting me use her hearts die from Stampin' Up. The variety of sizes and textures is wonderful!  Should get one of these for myself!  I wanted to embellish with hearts since there is a pattern of hearts in the stamped image.

Distress or Not to Distress Inks

The colour of this Distress Ink was a perfect match to the ribbon I had on hand, but not sure if I'm satisfied with the stamped image. Though it is "antique themed" I find the mottling affect of the Distress ink makes the sentiment somewhat difficult to read. You can never have enough inks!

Finally, Easter Cards to Share

Die cut the rabbit out of a piece of patterned paper that coordinated with the patterned paper used as a background.  The small patterned paper provided enough of a contrast to the word patterns to make the rabbit distinguishable.
