Textured Butterflies

Because this ribbon was somewhat plain, I chose to give the butterflies more texture and I used Distress Stickles. The coloured glitter glue only enhanced the colour of the butterflies.

Only with the Bow Easy can I get a nice tight and flat bow out of gros grain ribbon!

Cuts from Die Cuts

I die cut the tree out of coloured chipboard and cut part of it off to be able to fit all of my design elements within the card front space. I used Rock Candy Stickles to give the "snow" texture and sparkle. To avoid having to cut out the skinny branch arms of the snowman, I first stamped him on the patterned paper and then stamped a second image on off white cardstock. I merely trimmed the arms off of the second image and adhered it directly on top of the first stamped image.

The Difference with Distress Stickles

These aren't your ordinary Stickles! Instead of metallic glitter, Distress Stickles combine a pearlized glitter of various particle sizes. Paired with the popular colour palette of Distress Inks and Paints and you have a very vintage (almost mica looking) distress glitter glue. The texture is amazing! I stamped and heat embossed the snowman to create "boundaries" to make the neat application of the product a little easier.

Rustic Reindeer

The colour and texture of this cardstock had a rustic feel to it. With this in mind, I chose stars embellished with buttons and twine kept the theme going. Aged Mahogany Distress Stickles used for the reindeer's eye was the icing on the cake.

Cricuts & Cards

I don't have a Cricut, but sure am glad that I know wonderful people who do. Thanks goes to Christine and Sandra who were kind enough to share their resources and cut this gorgeous Christmas tree for me. I didn't have a stamp that was the appropriate size and love this silhouette!
Note that you can get Stickles in coordinating Distress Ink colours. Here I used Antique Linen Stickles on the tree.

Stamps and Coordinating Dies

Here I've used a sentiment stamp from the Fanciful Tags set, sold by Gina K. Designs. The images were made to work with the Spellbinder tag dies. I accented the tag with matching Sugar Spun Distress Ink and Stickles.

Heartfelt Creations has also produced stamps that work with Spellbinder dies. Deb has them for sale. I hope to get a sample done soon.

Flower Power

This punched flower looked similar to the flowers in the patterned paper, so I chose to use it on my 3 X 3 gift card. To emulate the texture in the patterned paper, I sprayed the flower with Glimmer Mist. I used Distress Stickles for my flower centre. These come in colours that coordinate with the Distress Inks!
