3 of a Kind

Another use of scraps. A 6 x 6 pad of coordinating papers with small patterns go a long way!

In Pieces

In an effort to use the smallest of some scraps, I trimmed each piece to the same 1/2" width and then adhered them to a piece of cardstock. I placed the heart die so that the papers would be on a diagonal after the shape was cut.

Wine with That?

I chose to pull out the purples in these patterned papers by using a dark purple (wine) cardstock base. Coordinating papers from the same pad help pull the elements of the card design together. The heart was to the right of the ribbon, however, the bow overpowered it, so I moved it up and balanced the layout with a bit of bling.

Flowers & Candy

When I die cut the heart out of the Basic Grey patterned paper a satin candy box came to mind. I thought it needed to be decorated with rhinestones. This plaid border punch has been in my collection for some time and I was pleased to find a way to use it in this card design.

Heartlines

Though I often use embossing folders, I don't usually think to use the border ones. To get the pattern vertical, I had to place the folder first on one side of the cardstock and then on the other, putting the paper through the BigShot twice. This is another great way to use up small scraps of coordinating patterned papers.
