Shiny Ornaments

Once again, I have chosen to highlight an element in the patterned paper. This time I applied Glossy Accents to the ornament with "joy" on it. Working with the designs within patterned papers is another convenient short cut. When attaching a bow to my cards, I like to use the Bow Easy. It's an inexpensive (thanks Lynn) tool that creates a flat bow with a nice knot.

Very Vintage

Purple hues tend to lend themselves to a vintage look. With this theme in mind I chose the Victoria Cuttlebug embossing folder to create a band for the card that matched the embossed layers of the flower. The lighter weight of this patterned paper did not allow me to moisten the flower layers with Glimmer Mist; I crumpled each layer and flatted them out before adhering them together with Glossy Accents. This is a fabulous adhesive!

Poppin' Pieces

Inspired by my good friend, Judy, I love to stamp images on both solid and patterned pieces of paper, cutting some elements out of the patterned paper for layering. Let the fashion designer in you come out to play!

Oh My Gloss!

To give these pumpkins dimension, I covered them with Glossy Accents. I added a felt button for texture. Felt embellishments are very popular right now.

Balancing Backgrounds

Usually I stick to small patterned papers for background on cards, however, a small pattern would compete with the details in the stamped image. The argyle pattern is still small enough to be appreciated on the card face, behind the focal point. Note that the blue CTMH cardstock matches the Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. Glossy accents was used to highlight the circular element in the image and Pearl Glimmer Mist was used to tint the white space in the image; the white embossing is never truly white.
