Sizzix Snowflake Embossing Folder

This folder is the perfect backdrop for winter themed cards. I appreciate the varying sizes of the snowflakes and the non-linear pattern.

Homespun

To carry the "homespun" theme in the sentiment, I embellished the card with small buttons. Since I didn't have enough of the pink cardstock for the card base, I used Distress Worn Lipstick ink on white cardstock to colour it.

Tone on Tone

Tied with a Bow

Because this snowman was somewhat more whimsical, I used chunky glitter on the snowballs. I used the ribbon in a way to simulate a wrapped present.

I can honestly say that I created this card from scratch. Should have, however, put a piece of white cardstock on the tops of the stocking before adhering the Flower Soft so it wouldn't be as transparent. I knew the sheet of wood grained patterned paper that I had would come in handy some day. Still looking for burning logs to fill the fireplace.

Chairs?

One of the currently popular icons is chairs. It's amazing the creative ways that artists have incorporated the images into their cards. Though I would have preferred to use green flocking to emulate velvet upholstery, I didn't have any; I was satisfied with the results I achieved with Flower Soft. I love how the Labels 18 die cut shape frames the chair. Don't forget that Distress Inks aren't just for blending; they can be used to stamp images too. The colour is just more concentrated.

Flock a Flower Centre

To recreate the "fuzzy" centre of a real daisy, I found a dimensional glue dot and Flower Soft to work perfectly. I chose not to stamp my sentiment on solid cardstock because I thought it may cover too much of the patterned paper. I was pleased with the results of stamping my sentiment directly on the patterned paper. The right choice of font will allow the sentiment to stand out. Glimmer Mist allowed me to colour the white paper flower and seam binding to match my cardstock. I plan to purchase white flowers in various shapes and sizes to use with my many colours of Glimmer Mist and to dye white seam binding to match too.

Just Fur Fun

I couldn't resist making my own version of this card since I had the patterned paper. Wanted to make a connection between the lamb and wool sweater, so I used coloured Fun Flock for fur.

What a Bella!

Stamping Bella has a full line of Bella's to suit your needs. Deb has brought in a number of them and I just had to have this Diva. I couldn't wait to make her scarf life like by filling it with Flower Soft. I stamped her dress on a piece of the patterned paper to paper piece the image. Copics were used to colour the remainder of the stamped image.

Ivory Flower Soft for Fur

The Ivory Flower Soft was perfect for embellishing fur to match the snowflakes in the cardstock. On the second card I stamped the image a second time in black in order to cut out her face and give her black hair.

A Modern Twist

This set of stamps was a little out of my normal range of choice, but I bought it in an effort to be able to make a variety of cards to suit a variety of people. I took advantage of the great opportunity to use my Ivory Floral Soft to immitate fun fur.

Beyond Monochromatic

Once again I found myself going monochromatic so I found a solution: add a neutral colour. In this case, I used black because the image would look appropriate in this colour.

Tags on White

I started with a simple card base that would coordinate with most Christmas wrapping papers. It was best to stamp the frame image first and then cut out the scalloped squares with the Spellbinder dies; this allowed for more accuracy.
I decorated each tag in a different way, using a variety of embellishments. On one stocking top I coloured first with a Signo White Gel Pen.

Fabulous Fake Fur

Here I have used a variety of finishes and textures to decorate this image. I used a shimmery paint on his beard to give it a smooth and silky look. Although the trim of his hat is also white, I wanted to give it texture and sparkle so I used Polar White Flower Soft.

A Dynamic Duo

Here a Spellbinder die has been used to cut a mat which frames a stamped and cut image. I made the slippers "fuzzy" with Flower Soft. Another great way to add texture to a card.
