Create a Valance

For a fancy top, I created a "valance" using a border die. Should have created more distinction between the tag die and the patterned paper underneath...

Hang a Tag

Rather than cutting a "hanging ribbon", I used most of a Spellbinder Fancy Tag die cut to support my sentiment.

Peace on Earth

This card and the next two dozen cards that follow will incorporate various ways to use embossing folders and new dies. I believe that these are the two most popular product lines at this time. I cut a strip of a piece of embossed paper for one element of this card design.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Verve
Papers: Wassail cardstock (Memory Box), green cardstock (Bazzill), patterned (Memory Box Mistletoe), pearlized carstock (scrap)
Ink: Staz On Timber (solvent ink required for pearlescent cardstock)

Numerical Dies

Using numbers for that special day of the month is a great idea for a specific theme:
Hallowe'en--October 31
Valentine's Day--February 14
St. Pat's Day--March 17

Tone on Tone

I chose an ink close in colour to that of the pink cardstock to create a subtle pattern on the stocking.

Stamp Sentiments Off Die Cuts

Found inspiration for this card @ http://damasklove.blogspot.ca/. I liked how the sentiment was stamped on both the die cut image and the oval to which it was adhered.

Coloured Ink on Coloured Cardstock

Another great idea from Dawn McVey @ http://dawnmcvey.typepad.com/. I often forget how much I like coloured ink stamped on coloured cardstock. Papertrey Ink makes dies to match their stamp images. They are, however, solid, requiring the die cuts to be made first and stamped second.

Card Recipe
Stamps: images (PTI), sentiment (SU)

If the car works...

You wouldn't expect to find a car on an Easter card, but I thought it was a cute way of sending the same sentiment. This is one of Papertrey Ink's stamps, designed to work with one of their own dies. Coordinating stamps and dies are a new trend in the paper crafting world at this time.
