Unique Products Make Unique Cards

This isn't a card that I'd think of using, but can honestly say that the need has arisen. It's fun to die cut shapes in different patterned and solid papers.

I Love Fat Ribbon!

Though it's a challenge to use, I love this wide, patterned ribbon. The layered border provided good support for my focal image. I stamped and cut out a circle separate from the doily die cut underneath for more dimension.

Papers: off white cardstock (stash), patterned (K & Co.), red cardstock (Bazzill)
Ink: Colorbox Cranberry

Boo

This card incorporates die cuts not necessarily associated with Hallowe'en. I've used the fence and the grass to balance the weight of the pumpkin. Stamping a solid, black image on a pumpkin creates the look of a carved silhouette.  There are many ways to use what we have to create something new and updated.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Inkdadinkado
Papers: white cardstock (Georgia Pacific), grey, orange & green cardstocks (Bazzill), patterned paper (Fiskars/Heidi Grace)
Ink: Versafine Onyx
Accessories: fence & grass dies (MFT), pumpkin (Sizzix), BOO (stash), ribbon (Michaels)

Coloured Ink on Coloured Cardstock

Another great idea from Dawn McVey @ http://dawnmcvey.typepad.com/. I often forget how much I like coloured ink stamped on coloured cardstock. Papertrey Ink makes dies to match their stamp images. They are, however, solid, requiring the die cuts to be made first and stamped second.

Card Recipe
Stamps: images (PTI), sentiment (SU)
Papers: white cardstock (Georgia Pacific), blue, green & brown cardstocks (Bazzill), patterned (MME Lime Twist Fly A Kite)
Inks: Distress (Antique Linen, Tumbled Glass), ColorBox (Chalk Creamy Brown)
Accessories: 1/4" hole punch, floral dies (PTI), doily die (MFT), ticket die (Sizzix), Spellbinder Nested Frame Dies, ribbon (stash), rhinestones (Kaiser)

Cut Out the Middle, Man

When I saw this idea on another card, I couldn't wait to make my own version. Here's where stamps with coordinating dies are put to good use. I die cut the butterfly out of the middle of the patterned paper and then cut out a "slice", wide enough to accommodate my sentiment. After adhering the two pieces of patterned paper to the green cardstock, I stamped the butterfly image. Then I stamped my sentiments.

Card Recipe

Papers: blue cardstock (Bazzill), patterned (BG Mellow)
Ink: Versafine Timber
