Honeycomb Embossing Folder

I couldn't wait to get this honeycomb embossing folder to use with my collection of "bee" related stamps.
The embossed paper adds even more dimension to the layers.

I brought the web to life by using Black Diamond Stickles. A dimensional glue dot worked well for holding the 3D spider.

A Bejewelled Haunted House

I took this card "to another level" by cutting out a second house from another sheet of patterned paper and adhering it to the full piece of patterned paper with foam squares. For a stained glass window effect, I filled in the windows with Stickles.

The Illusion of Layers

The young lady images are a perfect start for cards for people of this age. The solid images provide a wonderful base on which to build. Here I have added dimension with Stickles.

Stickin' With Stickles

I really like the results achieved with this product line, but am still a rookie at using it. I don't have any trouble with the application of it, but am not sure which colours to choose. Since this butterfly was already pink, I chose an iridescent glitter glue to work with the clear rhinestones. I love how this patterned paper contained the currently popular doily icons that I could integrate as my card border.

A Smokin' Snowman

Here's another version of a card with patterned paper distressed with Black Soot. The stamped image required the card to be longer than wider--something to keep in mind when choosing elements for your card. Again, regular Stickles gave me the control for fine detail in the falling snowflake.

When Thin is In

Here's a good example of where regular Stickles are more appropriate than Distress Stickles. I was pleased with the thin line of I was able to get on the embossed bow.

Stickles for Coal

Though I have used black rhinestones for eyes in the past, I thought that black Stickles would be perfect for the coal on this snowman. The small opening in the bottle allows you enough control to get just enough product out for this purpose. And you can vary the size of the dots of Stickles to suit the image.

Twinkle, Twinkle...

On this card I wanted to "run with the sentiment". Since it had candles in it, I accented the candles on the cake with Stickles of the same colour as the green ink.

Smokin'!

I have found Black Soot Distress Ink to be the perfect medium to create a softened, "smokey" look. Though not clearly evident in the scan, the hearts in the boots and the green dots were highlighted with Stickles to add a little sparkle.

Rub It On

In an effort to make each of my cards unique I thought I would use rub ons. I was pleased to see that there was no problem using it on the striped paper which has glitter on it. To cover the "seam" between the two types of patterned paper, I applied a line of Stickles. For a little more dimension, I dry embossed a piece of black cardstock in Tim Holtz Bricked embossing folder to use as a layering piece.

Love the Image...

This was another "must have" image since its dimensions are more suitable to the long, rectangular cards I most often make. Though the scan doesn't clearly show this, I accentuated the falling snowflakes with glitter glue. The pattern in the background stamp varied in size to the stripe in the patterned paper, but I'm not satisfied with the final result. Perhaps this is because the colour of the dried ink was somewhat different that the colours in the patterned paper. Live and learn.
