I enjoyed incorporating graph paper into various card designs. I've been meaning to pay my butterflies the attention they deserve, so I chose one for the focal point of this card. The image was stamped in black and coloured by blending Distress Inks. Subsequently, the image was cut out and adhered to the graph paper with foam squares. Distress Inks were also used to soften the edges of the patterned papers.

My original intention was to make this card front with the larger oval Embossing Diffuser. After dry embossing my cardstock, I stamped my sentiment in the smooth, oval area. However, I "messed it up" and went with Plan B. I used an oval Spellbinder die to create an oval frame with the dry embossed cardstock and stamped the sentiment directly on the exposed card front. Something can always be salvaged from a boo boo!
Though I didn't get the crisp results using the Embossing Diffuser that I expected, it did create a smooth area for me to directly stamp my sentiment. This makes things easier, since it is more difficult to adhere a die cut stamped with a sentiment to a dry embossed card front.
Here we incorporated two different sets of Spellbinder dies to create a frame for an image. It was easier to get the image centred by stamping it first and then cutting it out with the die. The frame was made by using a square and a label die at the same time. Core'dinations cardstock was sanded to bring out the core colour of the pink paper and add to the distressed look. We also faked ribbon by dry embossing cardstock in an embossing folder.
