Going Places

Not sure if this is finished; might add an appropriate sentiment on the bottom right hand side. Just love the bicycle image and had to create with it! In order to match the cardstock to the blue bicycle, I used a Distress Marker to colour the bike and the Distress ink pad by the same name to colour the cardbase front.

Popping Pieces

Two stamped images were required to complete this card. The first was used as the top layer on the card front. Centres from the three flowers were cut out of the second stamped image to be "popped". Though a Spica Clear Glitter Pen was used on the flowers, I was disappointed because the results were negligible.

Combining Distress Inks and Markers

The first step to this card was to stamp the image with clear ink and heat emboss it with white embossing powder, on white cardstock.  The entire surface of the white cardstock was coloured with Distress Ink. Then I coloured in the flowers with the Distress Marker of the same name as the ink pad, for a darker tone.

Backgrounds from Strips

Long strips of scrap patterned paper can be used to create an entire background for a card design.
Square cards easily accommodate a doily for a card design layer. I love that Cheery Lynn butterfly dies have coordinating solids.

Go Vertical with Labels

I find Tag die cuts a challenge to use on A2 cards because of their size. This card front, which used up several pieces of scrap patterned paper from the same product line, worked well with this die and the vertical Thank You stamp I had on hand. Vertical sentiments are not as abundant as horizontal ones, but provide versatility in card design. Grab them when you can!

Framing 3D Die Cuts

A frame was made using a combination of an ornate square and a regular square die. The tips of the flower die cut pieces were accented with Distress Ink and rounded with the end of a thin paint brush. I rolled the paper around the brush handle. A glue dot was used to adhere the glass microbeads for a perfect flower centre.

Stamping on Patterns

In addition to stamping image design, ink colour should also be considered when stamping on patterned paper. The olive and red pigment inks are heavy and bold enough to stand out.

Embossing Only with Spellbinder Dies

For this wedding card I used a blank, premade card as my base. Using the appropriate sandwich in my Big Shot, I dry embossed the Gold Labels Four design. Subsequently, I stamped my sentiment/image within this area. Paper flowers and a ribbon bow were adhered with Glossy Accents.
